Eyeing a 2016 GT but the Carfax looks too clean and that's making me suspicious
Been browsing Dubizzle for weeks now trying to find a clean 5.0 that hasn't been absolutely thrashed around Jebel Jais every weekend and I finally stumbled on a 2016 GT that looks almost too good to be true, low kms and the seller sent me some shiny pics of it parked in a villa garage but when I asked about the accident history he got weirdly vague and just said "no major accidents bro." The price is right in that sweet spot where I want to jump on it before someone else snatches it up but I've been reading some absolute nightmare threads on the Ford forums about guys buying these and finding out later the whole rear end was resprayed after a desert drift session gone wrong. A buddy of mine who's deeper into the local car scene than I am said that if I'm serious about a pony car out here I shouldn't even think about handing over cash without getting a proper Dubai Mustang Pre Purchase Inspection done first because these things can hide frame damage like you wouldn't believe and the AC compressors tend to be on their last legs from the summer heat. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if that's overkill for a car that's still under 80k km or if I'm being naive thinking I can just trust a test drive and a smile.
